I was staying at a friend’s peaceful farmhouse in Nes i Ådal, a lush pocket of the countryside northwest of Oslo, when we decided to plan a rugged nature escape. The rules were simple: it had to be something adventurous, scenic, and a destination he (as a local) had never done before.
We landed on a 3-day motorbike trip through the legendary alpine playground in the mountain region of Jotunheimen. On day two, we’d hike the iconic Kyrkja Trail inside Jotunheimen National Park. Before and after, though, the ride itself was something unforgettable.
The 2025 Healthcare Professionals Cruise to Cozumel wasn’t just a “nice vacation”—it was a necessary reset. Our nurses, doctors, techs, therapists, and caregivers have been carrying heavy emotional, mental, and physical loads for years. This cruise gave them permission to step away from the alarms, the charting, the double shifts, and the “Can you just...?” texts, and step into rest, ocean air, and joy. Between turquoise water, unbothered naps, good food, and grown-folks laughter, they had space to breathe, reconnect with themselves, and remember they’re more than their badge.
When a dear friend and a fellow lover of Mexico confessed he’d never ventured to Baja (let alone Valle de Guadalupe), my mission was clear. I had to make our one day in Valle de Guadalupe unforgettable.
I transformed a business trip in to a soul retreat at one of the best spas in the world, Carillon Miami Wellness Resort.
Traveled to see the famed New England in the prettiest time of the year! Leaves, good food, history - this trip had it all.
We were very happy our college-age daughters’ spring break aligned with ours. Special family trip to a part of Mexico we have never enjoyed before–the paradise of Holbox!
I was feeling a little low not having gotten to the snow this season-I decided to take a quick mid week trip to my most favorite, Vail!
Our daughter was study abroad for the semester and spending the last part of her trip in London. We went over the pond to spend Thanksgiving with her. While not the traditional way to spend the American holiday, we still manage to get caught up in the holiday spirit and London was an incredible place to be this time of year!
We went to visit our Santa Clara University student for Family Weekend-there is so much you can do during a weekend visit!
Went to visit our daughter attending Cal Poly.
Some soul renewing at a birthday-reunion-girls getaway on the gorgeous Oregon coastine.
We chose Breckenridge for my bachelorette party because it was the perfect blend of convenience and charm. Being just a short drive from the Denver metro area, it made for an easy commute for everyone in my bridal party. Breckenridge offers so much to do, from great dining options to fun activities, making it an ideal spot to celebrate. We also found an amazing VRBO that was spacious and perfect for hosting our group—it really added to the experience and made the weekend unforgettable!
Estes Park holds a special place in my heart, as my family took annual trips there when I was growing up. It’s a place filled with beautiful memories and nostalgia, so I decided to surprise my now husband with a trip there to celebrate our dating anniversary. Visiting in the fall made it even more magical, with the vibrant leaves changing colors and the chance to witness elk during their rut season.
Thailand has always been one of our favorite getaway destinations, especially since it’s just a short trip from where we live. Whenever there’s a long weekend, we find ourselves drawn back to this beautiful country—its perfect mix of shopping, culture, nature, and warm hospitality makes every visit special.
One of the things we love most about Thailand is how budget-friendly it is. You can indulge in amazing food, explore stunning sights, and experience luxury without spending a fortune. It’s a place that feels both modern and deeply rooted in tradition, where skyscrapers stand alongside historic temples, and vibrant markets buzz with energy. No matter how many times we visit, Thailand always has something new to offer, which is why we never miss a chance to return!
It’s been 3 years since we did this Father/Son ski trip and we haven’t ventured to Steamboat. I’m glad we did - we got pounded with snow! The group was 6 Dads and 6 seventeen year old boys.
