The Scottish Western Isles - particularly Isle of Skye - tend to show up on everyones bucket list. They are wild, rugged, otherworldy, and a nature-lover's playgorund. Being so close by, we decided to take a trip when our best friend from the States visted us here in Scotland.

We went on our first trip to Scotland and couldn't get enough! We went back to complete more of our bucket list items in this beautiful country. We explored a couple of the same areas, but added the West Coast and South Scotland, also known as the Scottish Borders.

We really wanted to go to England and Scotland, because so many of our favorite stories take place here, or were written here. We saw a lot of "storybook" places on our trip, like places where Harry Potter was inspired, where Pride and Prejudice was filmed, and where C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien hung out. We were also really excited to see the beautiful rugged landscape of Scotland (and were not disappointed!).

We had seen stunning pictures and wanted to experience the moody Scottish highlands.
