Met friends there on study abroad

Paphos was our first trip together, so we were looking for something affordable for the end of October. We wanted to travel during the low season, but still hoped to find a place warm enough to enjoy the sea. That’s how we ended up choosing Paphos and it turned out to be a great decision!

Everyone tells you to skip Panajachel and stay in San Marcos or San Pedro instead. I based myself in Pana for three days, took the boat out every morning, and got the painted houses, the art galleries and the best view on the lake without packing up once.

Beautiful place for a couples' road trip! We decided to plan our own trip rather than do the usual Dubrovnik and coastal route, and had a great time. The rare chance to board down an active volcano brought me to this underrated Central American gem. Wild Pacific waves, motorbiking around a volcanic island inside a freshwater lake, and soaking up the sunshine at a laid-back surfer hub made the week-long adventure unforgettable.

Everyone treats Antigua as the place you sleep before you climb something. I gave it seven days, watched Fuego erupt over the rooftops before breakfast, and got my first earthquake in a three-story bar at midnight.

I was called to officiate some basketball games at the camp, with the camp’s basketball team “Dream team” playing against two other teams from Lilongwe city.

Visiting the refugee camp was enlightening and thee was a lot of learning. Aside the basketball, the communion with the people was exquisite.
