This trip was a dream come true. I always wanted to visit California and be able to see up close what I had so often seen in movies and TV shows, and I finally did.

In celebration of my 30th Birthday, we embarked on a 1 week Van Road Trip adventure of a lifetime! We reconnected with family, explored meaningful history, and enjoyed the taste of Southern cuisine throughout our trip.

New Orleans captured my imagination long before this trip. As a teenager, I loved vampire movies and TV shows, many of which were filmed here. Walking these streets felt like stepping into those scenes—moody, cinematic, and full of character. Visiting New Orleans was a chance to bring that longtime interest to life and experience the city’s unique atmosphere in person.

I chose this trip because I was working in Italy at a summer camp in a nearby region, and it felt like the perfect opportunity to explore more of the area. Since I absolutely love the beach, spending my free time by the sea made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

We wanted to choose the quieter places. To step away from big cities and famous capitals, and instead follow a route shaped by small towns, winding roads, and landscapes that slow you down without asking.

This journey wasn’t about ticking boxes. It was about crossing borders gently, watching architecture change, hearing languages shift, and feeling how each place carries its own rhythm. Castles on hills, canals through old towns, lakes reflecting mountains—each stop felt like part of the same story.

We wanted a trip that felt romantic in its own way: calm but rich, simple but deeply beautiful. And this route gave us exactly that.

We traveled to Portugal for its energy. For the hills that make your legs burn, the viewpoints that make you stop mid-sentence, and a city that keeps pulling you forward instead of letting you sit still.

Portugal felt alive—full of walking, climbing, getting lost, eating well, laughing a lot, and constantly saying “one more stop.” It’s the kind of place where every day turns into a mix of plans, detours, and happy accidents.

Paris definitely felt nevitable. A city we had all imagined for years but never properly experienced. Art, food, long walks, and that quiet promise of getting lost in a place where every street feels familiar even on your first visit.

This trip wasn’t about slowing down or doing Paris “the right way.” It was about seeing as much as we could, walking until our legs gave up, sharing croissants on random corners, and letting the city overwhelm us—in the best possible way.

Paris felt like the perfect place for that kind of chaos.

We chose this trip because, even though we’re Turkish, we had never explored Istanbul properly — not this deeply, not this widely, and definitely not at this speed. Istanbul is a city so big, so multicultural, and so full of history that it feels like its own country, and we wanted to finally experience it through the eyes of curious travelers rather than locals passing through.

It was also the perfect chance for a girls’ trip, full of long walks, nonstop exploring, hidden corners, museums, parks, seaside neighborhoods, and all the chaotic beauty that makes Istanbul unforgettable.

I picked this trip because I was craving fresh air, greenery, and slow, scenic walking routes. Malmö gave me gentle city charm, while Lund offered forests, fields, and a nature adventure with trolley cycling — exactly the peaceful balance I needed.

I traveled to Turkey for something deeper than just sightseeing — I went to reconnect. Months earlier, during an Erasmus program in Bansko, I met a wonderful group of Turkish friends who instantly made me feel welcome, understood, and supported. Our connection was effortless, and when they invited me to visit them in Ankara, I knew I had to go.

I also wanted a change of scenery — a burst of color, warmth, and adventure after months of routine. Turkey offered all of that. From the vibrant bazaars and beautiful parks to the spontaneous nights filled with music and laughter, I found myself absorbing every moment.

Most of all, I traveled to Turkey because I knew it would be meaningful. And it was. It turned into a trip filled with unforgettable memories, delicious food, heartfelt conversations, and the kind of cultural richness that stays with you long after you return home.

I chose Copenhagen for a quick 3-day escape because it’s the perfect blend of cozy Scandinavian charm and easy walkability. I’d always heard about its colorful streets, relaxed atmosphere, and bike-first lifestyle, and I wanted a destination where I could slow down, explore beautiful neighborhoods on foot, and enjoy great food without rushing. Copenhagen felt like the ideal city for a short but refreshing adventure—and it absolutely delivered.

I was staying at a friend’s peaceful farmhouse in Nes i Ådal, a lush pocket of the countryside northwest of Oslo, when we decided to plan a rugged nature escape. The rules were simple: it had to be something adventurous, scenic, and a destination he (as a local) had never done before.

The 2025 Healthcare Professionals Cruise to Cozumel wasn’t just a “nice vacation”—it was a necessary reset. Our nurses, doctors, techs, therapists, and caregivers have been carrying heavy emotional, mental, and physical loads for years. This cruise gave them permission to step away from the alarms, the charting, the double shifts, and the “Can you just...?” texts, and step into rest, ocean air, and joy. Between turquoise water, unbothered naps, good food, and grown-folks laughter, they had space to breathe, reconnect with themselves, and remember they’re more than their badge.
