10 day African Safari
We traveled to Tanzania as a bucket list trip. We immersed ourself in the land, the wildlife and the culture with opportunities to visit with the Maasai people and other incredible experiences. Through the 10 days, we visited Arusha, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Spent 6 days exploring the Serengeti.
Trip Recap
- Day 1: Landed in Kilimanjaro, enjoyed two nights at Siringit Villa.
- Day 2: Checked out of Siringit Villa, explored Tarangire, and settled at Neptune Lodge.
- Day 3: Explored Ngorongoro Crater today, then relaxed back at Neptune Lodge.
- Days 4 to 5: Explored Serengeti National Park, enjoying two nights at Siringit Serengeti Camp.
- Days 6 to 10: Just arrived at Taasa Lodge for a relaxing four-night stay!
- Day 11: Traveled from TAASA Lodge to Dulles via Lobo and Addis Ababa.
Highlights
Spending 4 nights at Taasa Lodge and having our own dedicated driver and tracker was a highlight. Taasa has concession property outside of the Serengeti that they lease from the government. Their safari vehicles are open air and are able to go off road on game drives. Going off road allows you to get a lot closer to the animals, and you can also do night game drives. Our time at Taasa also included a visit to the Maasai village nearby where many of their employees live with their families. The time spent at Taasa was too short and amazing!!!! We didn't want to leave!
Day 1
Landed at Kilimanjaro airport, transported with Leopard Tours to Siringit Villa for two nights.
Day 1: visited Wine to Water East Africa, enjoyed our time at Siringit Villa
Day 2
Checked out of Siringit Villa, spent the day visiting Tarangire National Park and then checked into Neptune Lodge.
Day 3
Visited Ngorongoro Crater for the day and then returned to Neptune Lodge.
Days 4 to 5
Checked out of Neptune Lodge and entered Serengeti National Park. Stayed at Siringit Serengeti Camp for two nights as we explored the Serengeti with Leopard Tours.
Days 6 to 10
Checked out of Siringit Serengeti Camp, and traveled to Lobo Air Strip. We transferred to Taasa Lodge vehicle and traveled to Taasa Lodge where we will be for four nights.
Day 11
Transferred from TAASA Lodge to Lobo Air Strip. Flew to Kilimanjaro Airport. Flew to Addis Ababa International Airport. Flew to Dulles Airport, Virginia.

Our 10 night adventure was perfect, and it is all due to Roane Travel Design who planned and arranged all of our lodging, transportation and itinerary. They did an amazing job!
