Day 1

In between going from Berlin to Copenhagen, Denmark we stopped over in Hamburg for a day. After putting our bags in our hostel we wanted to try and see as much as we could.

We stuck around Altstadt, which is where you can find some more of Europe's beautiful architecture. For Hamburg it was the Rathaus Town Hall, St Nikolai's Memorial, and St Catherine's Church.

Everything is within walking distance of each other. And, if you have a nice day in Hamburg you want to be walking around. The city is surrounded by canals that make walking or just sitting and enjoying the view of your surroundings a treat.

If you are a shopper - watch out. There is an abundance of stores for you to find clothes, shoes, art, or whatever you want to bring home with you.

I had to put the metaphorical 'blinkers' on Skye when we walked into some of the clothes stores. Hamburg is definitely got a bit of a boujee vibe to it.

The highlight of Hamburg was our night. We ate dinner at Erdapfel - a loaded potato restaurant. Such a great vibe there and the food was delicious, I would highly recommend!

Followed up by a night at Miniatur Wunderland. This was one of the coolest activities we did in all of Europe. An entire walk-through building filled with miniature worlds. From country-western to airports to zoo's to a Carnival in Rio. We literally were there till it closed. And, they have a 'Where's Wally?' type treasure hunt - for kids probably - that will keep you invested until the end.

Honestly, Hamburg was an unmissable city.
