Quick Trip to London
We wanted to explore the city before heading to the Cotswolds for a wedding my husband was in.
Trip Recap
- Day 1: Exploring London, enjoying Hamilton, and dining at Sketch was unforgettable!
- Day 2: Brunch at Tab x Tab was divine, followed by charming shops and Blacklock dinner.
Highlights
Hamilton in the West End: Truly one of the best theater experiences we’ve ever had. The energy in the room was electric, and it was worth every minute.
Dinner at Sketch: The Gallery: The combination of whimsical art installations, beautiful plating, and unique cocktails made it feel like a full sensory experience rather than just dinner.
Brunch at Tab x Tab: This was hands-down one of the best brunch spots we’ve tried anywhere. The avocado toast and cocktails were perfection.
Blacklock City Dinner: Cozy, unfussy, and absolutely delicious. Their chops and sides were exactly what we needed after a day of walking around London.
Walking through Hyde Park: A perfect way to enjoy the city and take in a bit of calm before dinner.
Day 1
My husband and I landed at LGW (London Gatwick) at 8:30 AM and grabbed a cab straight to our hotel, NOX Hyde Park. After checking in and dropping our bags, we wandered to a nearby pub for breakfast and a drink to kill some time and soak in our first few hours in London. Later, we took a cab to the West End to see Hamilton, an absolute must and worth every second. After the show, we cabbed back to our hotel to freshen up and then took a scenic walk through Paddington and Hyde Park to get to our dinner reservation at Sketch: The Gallery. The whole experience was unreal! There were art installations everywhere and food and cocktails that were as gorgeous as they were delicious.
Day 2
We met up with my friends for brunch at Tab x Tab, which was just a short walk from our hotel. The avocado toast and brunch cocktails were top-tier, we were absolutely obsessed. After brunch, we strolled around the area, hopping into cute little shops and pubs along the way, just enjoying the vibe. Then we cabbed over to Blacklock City for our 5:15 PM dinner reservation. Their chops and sides were everything we’d hoped for, very cozy, casual, and delicious.
Anything you would add or do differently?
-
Plan Ahead for Breakfast on Day 1: We were a little aimless that first morning. I’d pick a specific breakfast spot near the hotel to kick off the day on a more intentional note.
-
Schedule Shopping Time: We stumbled into cute shops between meals but having a set time for it would have made the day feel less like we were cramming things in.
