Spent the whole day indoors, in bed, bored. Had nothing exciting at all, till when I decided to check my twitter that I saw my favorite artist was performing tonight at a spot I didn’t know of. Issabel King at Bumpy Road brewing at Area 10 in Lilongwe.
So I followed the pin to the place, and hooray, a beer brewing place. I haven’t had as much fun as tonight.
I think the highlight was tasting new beers whilst listening to acoustics by my favorite artist Issabel King. It was a quiet tranquil night
A short drive through the city center to area 10, just opposite the fueling station. A spot so serene, child friendly with food and snacks. The beer choice is top notch, with personalized blends available. I had to taste a specially blended stout for me, and yea, it was worth the little kwacha I had.
It was a volunteering opportunity to teach kids from the Reserve’s surrounding schools about environment and conservation, eco tourism and wildlife.
I wanted a break from my studies. School had been overwhelming and I just wanted something different. A quiet space to reset the mind and soul. So I decided go on a trip, to paint and enjoy the scenery. To relax and recalibrate.
I was called to officiate some basketball games at the camp, with the camp’s basketball team “Dream team” playing against two other teams from Lilongwe city. Visiting the refugee camp was enlightening and thee was a lot of learning. Aside the basketball, the communion with the people was exquisite.
