I traveled to Morocco as part of my solo journey around the world. It had always been a destination I was curious about, even though many people told me it could be dangerous. I wanted to see it with my own eyes and form my own opinion and I ended up being truly surprised by the experience.

  • Day 1: Exploring Marrakech's vibrant souks and enjoying a traditional tajine was unforgettable!
  • Day 2: Enjoyed breakfast, explored the Souk, then watched a stunning sunset in Taghazout.
  • Day 3: Had breakfast at Café Teapot, then explored beautiful Paradise Valley with friends.
  • Day 4: Imsouane’s surf, culture, and couscous made for an unforgettable day!

Day 1

On my first day, I arrived in Marrakech and checked into a simple hostel called Riad Dia, where I paid around €10 per night with breakfast included. After dropping off my bags, I went straight out to explore the souks, since my accommodation was located right in the middle of them.

I was amazed by how vibrant everything was, the colors, the smells, and the variety of beautiful items everywhere. It felt like stepping into a completely different world. Later, I had my first traditional tajine for dinner, which made the experience even more special.

Day 2

On my second day, I enjoyed a really good breakfast at my hostel before heading out again. I walked through Souk to see what it was like during the day and it felt completely different, with a new kind of energy and movement.

After that, I packed my bags and took a taxi to the bus station, where I caught a bus to Taghazout. Once I arrived, I checked into another hostel, which cost around €11 per night. I quickly met some amazing people there, which made the experience even more special.

I ended the day watching the sunset at the local skate park, a simple but beautiful moment that perfectly captured the laid-back vibe of Taghazout.

Day 3

On the next day, I had breakfast at Café Teapot, a really nice spot in Taghazout. I ran into some of the people who worked at the skate park I had visited the day before, and we quickly became friends, which made the morning even more special.

After breakfast, I went on a day trip with three friends from the hostel to Paradise Valley. It’s a beautiful natural area surrounded by mountains and palm trees. When I visited, there wasn’t much water, but it was still a really nice experience and a great way to spend the day exploring nature.

Day 4

On my last day, I took a day trip to Imsouane, a small and simple surf village where everything revolves around the ocean. I absolutely loved the laid-back vibe of the place. It’s known for having one of the longest waves in Africa, which makes it a special destination for surfers.

For lunch, I had traditional couscous at a local restaurant. It was such a nice cultural experience, especially because in Morocco, it’s a tradition to eat couscous on Fridays.

I went surfing, but unfortunately the conditions weren’t the best that day. Even so, I really enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere. I left knowing that I definitely want to come back one day and spend more time there.
