Weekend in Mallorca
I am studying abroad for the semester in San Sebastián, Spain! There is a group of Santa Clara kids that came with me and we decided we needed a weekend getaway with some sun after a rainy week in San Seb.

Day 1
We touched down in Palma around 11pm Thursday night, and started our adventures Friday morning. The hostel (BOC Hostel) let us check in late, around 2am because it took us a very long time to get our rental car. This was very accommodating and nice! We took it slow on day 1 and woke up around 10am. We wanted to travel low-budget, so all we packed was a small backpack for three days. Our hostel was in the middle of the island, so all the nice beaches were 45 minutes away. It was cloudy but nice, and so we drove and got a delicious breakfast and headed to Cala des Moro.
Day 2
Saturday was my favorite day of the trip. My 7 friends and I woke up at the hostel and drove our rental cars to the boat dock where we got on a little center console boat--which one of my friends booked through Click&Boat--and got our day started. The boat began at 9am and ended around 3pm, and I can confidently say it was one of the best days of my life. The captain, a Mallorca local, took us to all his favorite secret spots and we got to snorkel with fish, swim to secluded beaches, and blast our own music. We went back to our hostel and showered, and then went to dinner in town and to a nighclub called Amok Mallorca recommended by some people we met in our hostel. It was huge, multi-level, and super fun.
Day 3
Our last day, we (shamefully) went to Starbucks for a quick breakfast and coffee because all the other places were very crowded and we wanted time to beach before our flight home that evening. The boys stayed and explored the historic sites of Palma, while the girls drove an hour and a half to a secluded white-sand beach where we had to hike 30 minutes down a beaten path to reach it (let me tell you it was well worth it). It was the most beautiful beach I have ever been to in my entire life-- we saw turtles, fish, and got to cliff jump and play in the soft clear waves. I won't gatekeep it, so it's called Cala Varques.

-
Make sure the car is rented for the correct dates... we accidentally booked it for the weekend after but the people at the airport desks were very helpful and we rebooked a car very easily. Warning though, the car rental line is super long so carve out an hour or two after you land.
-
Wake up earlier, because there were lots of places we wanted to see and driving takes up a fair amount of time.
