Day 1
On the first day, we arrived in Uluwatu and checked in at a guesthouse with amazing hosts, who welcomed us with a refreshing drink. It was such a warm and lovely start to our stay.
Soon after, we headed to Amaranth, a really nice spot where we could relax by the pool and get some work done. We ended up spending most of the day there, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
In the late afternoon, we went to Uluwatu Temple to watch the sunset, and it was one of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve ever seen. However, it’s important to be careful there, the area is full of monkeys, and we saw several people getting their phones and sunglasses taken by them.
We ended the day with dinner at a delicious Brazilian restaurant, which was such a nice and unexpected find in Bali.
Day 2
On the second day, we spent the entire morning surfing at Thomas Beach. The water was incredibly clear, and it was such a fun and energizing experience.
Later, we spent the afternoon exploring Nyang Nyang Beach, a beautiful and very unique beach, especially during low tide. It’s a bit more remote, so it’s best to get there by scooter, but it’s absolutely worth it.
We ended the day with dinner at a local Indonesian restaurant called Warung Local, where we enjoyed traditional food and a more authentic atmosphere.
Day 3
On the third day, we woke up early to go surfing again at Thomas Beach. It was the perfect way to start the day, enjoying the ocean one last time before leaving Uluwatu.
After that, we went back, packed our things, and drove by scooter all the way to Ubud. The ride itself was an adventure and a great way to see more of the island. We arrived in the late afternoon, checked in at our guesthouse, and took some time to relax.
To end the day, we had dinner and tried a traditional Indonesian dish called nasi campur, which was a delicious introduction to the local cuisine in Ubud.
Day 4
On the fourth day, we started the morning walking through the rice fields in Ubud, which is a very popular and beautiful activity in the area. The scenery was stunning, with endless green landscapes that made the experience feel peaceful and unique.
In the afternoon, we visited a coffee plantation where kopi luwak is produced. It was a really interesting experience, we were able to see the entire production process, taste different types of coffee and tea, and learn more about local traditions. At the end, there was also the option to buy some products to take home.
We finished the day by walking around the center of Ubud, enjoying the atmosphere before heading back to rest.
Day 5
On our last day, we started with a delicious breakfast at Waybu Coffee & Eatery before packing our bags. After a few unforgettable days together, we said our goodbyes, I was continuing my solo journey, and he was staying in Bali to meet friends.
At the time, we had no idea that just one month later we would meet again in Thailand… and that we would still be together today. It was the perfect ending to a trip that turned into something much more meaningful than I ever expected.
Anything you would add or do differently?
-
I recommend renting a scooter to explore places like Uluwatu and Ubud more freely. it’s the easiest and most flexible way to get around the island.
-
I also recommend being extra careful with your belongings when visiting Uluwatu Temple, as the monkeys are known for grabbing phones and sunglasses
