Day 1

On the first day, I caught my flight to the Phoenix airport (fares were cheaper than flying into Sedona!) and then took a Groome shuttle ride into Sedona (less expensive than an Uber!) I stopped at the Sedona Arts Center to check out their latest exhibition, “Freedom”, as well as bodies of works from various artists from the surrounding areas. Then, I went to stay at The Joy Luxury Creekside Cabins, where I enjoyed s’mores by the fire and the flowing sounds of Oak Creek.

Day 2

On the second day, I woke up and enjoyed gourmet breakfast delivered by The Joy staff. I spent the morning swimming in the river and lounging on The Joy’s private beach along Oak Creek. Then, I headed into town for some shopping! I enjoyed Tlaquepaque shopping and arts center, with shops filled with goods crafted by local artisans and various healing offerings! Then, I headed back to 89A (one of the main highways through town) and visited my favorite crystal and metaphysical shop in Sedona, the Dragon’s Den, before heading out for an adventure tour (which starts here!). The Dragon’s Den has crystals, metaphysical supplies, beautiful clothing, and even hosts intimate musical gatherings in the space on occasion.

Day 3

On the third day, I hiked Joy Mountain to watch the sunrise, spent the day swimming at the private beach, and then went to Chocolatree for delicious and nutritious lunch. I enjoyed their signature instant chocolate drink and the vibrant, friendly, welcoming community. I chatted with a few other patrons while enjoying my breakfast and lunch in the beautiful garden patio area in the back (definitely recommend if you’re looking to meet some people and make some friends!) That evening, I attended an ecstatic dance at Yavapai Vista by Sedona Ecstatic Dance, which hosts them every Tuesday and Thursday evening.

  • It is VERY HOT in Sedona in July. Visit in the fall, spring or winter! (Unless you like to avoid the crowds lol)
